Royalty R

Royalty R Serena Ireland Dressage Warmblood

Royalty R (known to friends and fans as Rusty) is an Australian Warmblood gelding bred by Heath and Rozzie Ryan of Newcastle Equestrian Centre in New South Wales.

Beautifully bred by three-time Australian Grand Prix Dressage Champion, Regardez Moi (imp) out of a mare called Josie R who is sire by the former Grand Prix Dressage competitor Jive Magic (imp).

I laid eyes on Rusty at Ryan’s Horses five years ago & had to have him. An unbroken, quirky youngster who was not easy at all, he was lucky to live after an accident, recovered 100% sound by some miracle (greats vets as well), back into work and tried to sell him and no one wanted him. So Rusty stayed, joined Serena Ireland in January 2019 who quickly saw his ability and became co-owner with me.

Fast forward to April 2021, Serena and Rusty debuted in the FEI ranks having their first Prix St George start with a fantastic score of 68.824% including a highlight of 71.176% from one judge!

In February 2021 we headed to Willinga Park for a two week ‘showcation’ to compete at Dressage by the Sea, Events 1 and 2. Serena and Rusty competed in the Advanced Championship at both events and placed in every event achieving scores of up to 70.000%. They were also sashed Advanced Freestyle Champions at both events with scores of 71.875% and 73.817% respectively.

Covid-19 halted competition for the majority of 2020, but in just two competitions Royalty R and Serena were able to take their best scores at Medium level to 73.542% and Advanced level to 72.230%
